About Me
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFC 39244), a graduate
of the California Institute of Integral Studies. My experience includes
working for ten years in the field of sales and marketing before attaining
my master’s degree in counseling psychology and my professional
license. I appreciate the struggle between one’s desire for
material acquisitions and one’s deeper need to experience life
more authentically -- to find balance, joy, and meaning in one’s
work, relationships, and family life.
My clinical work is grounded in contemporary psychology while influenced
by the enneagram, somatic, and spiritual awareness. An ongoing
interest of mine is the creative dynamic between spirituality and
mental, emotional, and physical health. More and more evidence is
emerging suggesting that meditation, prayer, and other contemplative
practices are useful for the treatment of many mental and physical
ailments. With this awareness and a commitment to my own meditation
practice, I help clients find a way beneath the pathology, the symptoms,
the negativity, the rage, the sorrow, and the stories they tell themselves
to the truth of who they are. I am committed to that truth as it exists
in each of us.

What is the Enneagram?
The Enneagram is a system of nine personality types that combines traditional wisdom and modern psychology into a powerful tool for understanding ourselves and the people in our lives. All nine personality types are equal and the highs and lows of human development can be found in every type. The Enneagram offers a map of the human personality and can be used to guide us back towards our “essential self.” Our “essential self” is unique and cannot be reduced by a type or category.
Benefits: Working with the Enneagram can help us become more successful in our relationships at home and at work. The Enneagram helps us to understand our own patterns, habitual responses and blindspots. By identifying the psychological and emotional defenses specific to our Enneagram type opportunities for personal growth and healing can occur. Working with the Enneagram helps us to see how our attachment to our personality cuts us off from our essential self, from our connection to Spirit.
Fees
My fee for a 50-minute session is $130. In a limited number of cases,
I may be able to offer a sliding scale depending on certain criteria.
I offer monthly receipts for those clients able to submit invoices
to their insurance providers for reimbursement.
Scheduling
Psychotherapy appointments are usually scheduled once a week. This
schedule allows for steady progress toward resolving the presenting
issue, and allows time for you to work on issues between sessions.
Sessions may be scheduled more frequently when warranted. To schedule
an appointment, call me at 415.255.3253
Office Location
My San Francisco office is on Union Street in the Marina/Cow Hollow/Pacific
Heights area. Not only am I minutes away from downtown San Francisco,
but my office is between the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge,
making it convenient for commuters from Marin and the East Bay. My
office is in a lovely Edwardian building, surrounded by other psychotherapy
offices in a nice, safe neighborhood. There is plenty of street parking
and direct access to public transportation; at least two bus lines
stop directly in front of the building.
